Hypermiling in the Midwest
Ever since I read this article about hypermiling I have been coasting towards stop signs and red lights to see if it would have a noticeable effect on my fuel economy. Additionally I’ve been trying to accelerate at a slow, even clip. On average this has netted me an improvement of between 3-5 mpg. My Subaru holds 18.5 gallons per tank, so I net between 55.5 and 92.5 miles a tank.
